Harvard University's endowment fund has significantly reduced its exposure to cryptocurrency investments, according to Q1 2026 SEC 13F filings. The endowment cut its stake in IBIT by 43%, now holding 3,044,612 shares valued at approximately $117 million. This follows a previous reduction of 21% in Q4. Additionally, Harvard fully exited its $86.8 million position in BlackRock's spot Ethereum ETF. In contrast, the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala increased its investment in IBIT, raising its holdings to 14,721,917 shares worth about $566 million, up from 12,702,323 shares at the end of 2025. This move highlights differing strategies among major institutional investors regarding cryptocurrency assets.
