Google has introduced a new Health API in conjunction with its Fitbit Air, now available to developers. The API offers 31 health data points, including metrics on exercise, sleep, heart rate, and blood oxygen levels. It supports real-time data push via webhooks, detailed read/write permission controls, and time-range-based data querying and aggregation. This enables developers to create applications such as AI agents, MCP servers, CLIs, and real-time monitoring systems using authentic health data. An official guide and tutorial for the first API call have been released to assist developers in getting started.
