Google has launched its AI-enhanced desktop search app for Windows users globally, expanding beyond its initial U.S. testing phase. The app allows users to search the web, local files, applications, and Google Drive by pressing Alt+Space. It features an AI Mode powered by Gemini, offering AI-driven responses and follow-up questions. Additional functionalities include Google Lens for screen content searches and screen sharing for direct inquiries. The app, requiring Windows 10 or later, currently supports only English. Google is also testing a macOS version of Gemini to compete with ChatGPT and Claude.
