The European Union has imposed a $1.02 billion fine on Google for breaching tech antitrust regulations. The European Commission announced that Google favored its own services on its search engine and restricted app developers from directing users to alternatives outside the Play Store. Google's President of Global Affairs, Kent Walker, criticized the EU's regulations, stating they have forced the company to remove popular features like real-time search and weaken security on Google Play.
