Goldman Sachs' latest Global LEO Satellite Report forecasts a dramatic increase in low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, projecting numbers to soar from 10,000 in 2025 to 305,000 by 2031. The report, highlighted by TechFlow Research, suggests that under an optimistic scenario, this figure could reach 396,000. Key players like SpaceX and Amazon are accelerating their satellite deployments, with Amazon recently securing FCC approval for an additional 4,500 satellites.
China's major constellations, including GW, G60, and Honghu, are also contributing significantly, planning over 35,000 satellites. Beneficiaries of this expansion include US companies SpaceX, Amazon, Boeing, and Kratos, while China's Tongyu Communication received a buy rating with a target price of 79 yuan. Additionally, ZTE, a core supplier of ground equipment, is poised to support the launch of approximately 70,000 satellites over the next five years.
