Goldman Sachs has highlighted the expanding role of Circle's USDC stablecoin beyond traditional cryptocurrency markets. According to a recent meeting, USDC's use cases are rapidly growing in areas such as cross-border payments, consumer e-commerce, capital market settlements, and AI agent payments. Notably, USDC dominates the x402 agent payment protocol, accounting for 99% of its trading volume. Circle has observed a trend of 'digital dollarization' in emerging markets, where USDC is increasingly used to replace local currencies and unreliable banking systems. The company anticipates that the passage of the CLARITY Act could further boost USDC's adoption by allowing issuers to share revenue and incentivize usage-based rewards, thus encouraging broader distribution and active use.
