GitHub has announced the launch of Agent HQ, a new feature designed to unify the integration of multiple AI coding agents within the GitHub ecosystem. This initiative will streamline the scheduling of agents across platforms such as GitHub, VS Code, CLI, and mobile devices. As part of this rollout, GitHub plans to incorporate coding agents from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Cognition, and xAI into its paid Copilot subscription. In addition to Agent HQ, GitHub introduced several new tools and features, including the Mission Control dashboard, VS Code "Plan Mode," AGENTS.md for custom agents, and the GitHub MCP Registry. The company also launched a public preview of Code Quality for enterprises, Copilot metrics dashboards, and an AI control plane for governance access and auditing. Notably, Copilot Pro+ users can now test OpenAI Codex in VS Code Insiders.
