The U.S. Department of Justice has charged German citizen Owe Martin Andresen with laundering over $2 million through cryptocurrency and gold bars. Andresen is accused of operating the now-defunct dark web marketplace Dream Market, which was allegedly used for illegal transactions involving drugs and counterfeit documents. German authorities arrested Andresen on May 7, seizing approximately $1.7 million in gold bars and $1.2 million in related assets. The U.S. has filed 12 counts of money laundering against him, each carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
