Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange founded by the Winklevoss brothers, has secured a Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) license from the Malta Financial Services Authority. This approval allows Gemini to extend its crypto product offerings across more than 30 European countries and regions. The exchange highlighted this as a significant step in its regulated expansion into Europe, underscoring the role of clear regulation in fostering global cryptocurrency adoption.
Earlier this year, Gemini also obtained a Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) license, enabling it to offer derivatives services within the European market. These regulatory advancements position Gemini to enhance its presence and service offerings across Europe.
