GameStop is set to launch its new digital trading card platform, Power Packs, on April 15. Developed in collaboration with PSA, the world's leading trading card grading company, Power Packs offers a unique feature at launch: instant liquidity for collectors. The platform will feature digital packs in four categories—Pokemon, football, basketball, and baseball—with prices ranging from $25 to $2,500. Power Packs allows users to purchase and open digital packs in real-time, with each card automatically authenticated and graded by PSA. Cards are stored in the PSA Vault, providing collectors with the option to sell back instantly, ship to their home, or hold in digital inventory. This instant liquidity feature addresses a longstanding issue in the trading card market, where ungraded cards typically sell for less and require lengthy grading processes. The platform aims to streamline the trading card experience by eliminating these barriers, potentially transforming the $15 billion market.
