The Fuzhou Intermediate People's Court has upheld a 12-year and 7-month prison sentence for Lin, who was convicted of stealing four Bitcoins from Wang in 2020. Lin, entrusted by Wang to liquidate his Bitcoin holdings, illicitly transferred the cryptocurrency to his own account, profiting approximately 900,000 yuan. Despite Bitcoin's lack of legal currency status in China, the court recognized it as property under criminal law. Lin's appeal was rejected, and he was also fined 300,000 yuan.
