Analyst Fred Krueger has proposed a new theory regarding the identity of Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, suggesting it was a collaboration between cryptographers Hal Finney and Len Sassaman. Krueger's hypothesis is based on 2009 email records showing Satoshi's activity coinciding with Finney's participation in a 10-mile race, implying the need for a second person. Krueger suggests Finney handled engineering and coding, while Sassaman contributed to the Bitcoin White Paper. The theory gains complexity with the timeline of Satoshi's last communication on April 26, 2011, and Sassaman's death 68 days later. At that time, Finney was battling ALS, limiting his ability to continue work. Krueger argues that these personal tragedies explain the cessation of Satoshi's communications and the inaccessibility of the 1.1 million BTC, now valued at $87.8 billion. This scenario suggests the coins are effectively "burned," eliminating market risk from potential sales by the founder.
