Architect Financial Technologies, founded by former FTX US president Brett Harrison, has received approval from the Bermuda Monetary Authority to launch "AX," a perpetual futures trading platform. This platform will introduce crypto derivatives to traditional asset classes such as stocks, forex, interest rates, and commodities. AX will support 24/7 trading and accept both fiat currency and USD stablecoins as collateral, addressing limitations of traditional settlement systems.
The Chicago-based startup is currently raising Series A funding, with backing from Coinbase Ventures, Circle Ventures, and Anthony Scaramucci's SALT Fund. Future plans for AX include launching perpetual contracts for AI-related assets like rare earths and renewable energy. Harrison noted a more relaxed regulatory environment in the US, suggesting new opportunities for perpetual contracts in traditional finance.
