Flow has announced the permanent destruction of 87.4 billion counterfeit FLOW tokens, marking the completion of its security incident remediation. The operation, executed on-chain by the community governance committee, ensures all counterfeit assets are removed from circulation. Following the incident on December 27, 2025, validator nodes deployed security patches within 24 hours, and the network has since operated normally with enhanced security measures. The Flow network has processed over 3 million transactions in the past week, indicating a return to full health. Core DeFi protocols are functioning normally, and the focus now shifts to ecosystem expansion and product development. Previously, Flow reported a $3.9 million loss due to a hack, but user deposits remained unaffected. The community governance committee also recovered counterfeit tokens from exchanges like Binance and HTX.
