French authorities arrested five suspects between September 7 and 8 in connection with a crypto asset kidnapping and extortion case spanning the Paris region, Isère, and Brittany. The National Gendarmerie launched the investigation after a woman was assaulted during a home invasion in March and coerced into transferring cryptocurrency under duress. Four of the five suspects have been formally charged, with three currently held in pre-trial detention as the investigation continues.
