Figure Technology has introduced the OPEN (On-Chain Public Equity Network) platform, enabling direct stock lending transactions on the blockchain. This new platform allows companies to issue real equity tokens on the Provenance blockchain, facilitating direct borrowing and lending of shares by shareholders without the need for traditional brokers or custodians. Figure will pioneer this initiative by issuing its own equity token and supporting trading on its decentralized platform, aiming to transform the equity market infrastructure.
