SpaceX has announced that Wang Chun, co-founder of F2Pool, will serve as mission commander for its inaugural interstellar crewed mission. The mission, set to last approximately two years, will explore beyond the Earth-Moon system and include a flyby of Mars before returning to Earth.
Before embarking on this groundbreaking journey, Wang Chun will join Dennis and Akiko Tito on a commercial lunar flyby aboard SpaceX's Starship, which will pass within 200 kilometers of the Moon's surface. This marks Starship's first commercial crewed interplanetary mission. Wang Chun's prior experience includes commanding the Fram2 polar orbit mission in 2025, preparing him for this ambitious endeavor.
