Europol, in collaboration with German and Swiss authorities, has dismantled the Bitcoin money laundering platform Cryptomixer, seizing approximately €25 million in Bitcoin and over 12TB of user data. The operation, conducted in Zurich from November 24 to 28, involved the seizure of servers and the takeover of domains associated with the site.
Cryptomixer is accused of facilitating money laundering activities since 2016, including transactions linked to ransomware, dark web markets, fraud, and human trafficking. This takedown marks a significant step in combating illicit financial activities in the cryptocurrency space.
