Jan-Oliver Sell, a former executive at Coinbase Germany, has been appointed CEO of the European Stablecoin Consortium. The consortium, which aims to challenge U.S. dominance in digital payments, also announced Floris Lugt from ING as CFO and Howard Davies, former chairman of National Westminster Bank, as chairman. BNP Paribas has joined the consortium, which includes nine major European banks that launched a euro stablecoin project earlier this year under MiCA regulations.
