Social media platform X has been fined 120 million euros by the European Union for breaching the Digital Services Act. The European Commission identified violations in X's blue checkmark verification, ad transparency, and data access for researchers. X has been given 60 days to propose solutions and 90 days to implement necessary changes. The EU's technology chief noted that the fine reflects the nature and impact of the violations on EU users, rather than the maximum penalty.
