Ethereum researcher Justin Drake has highlighted significant advancements in scaling the Ethereum network, citing real-time proving technology as a key driver for a potential 100x increase in throughput. This innovative approach leverages zero-knowledge proofs to drastically cut transaction finalization times by over 98%, effectively eliminating a major bottleneck. Projects such as Succinct and Brevis have showcased their capabilities, proving 94% and 99.9% of blocks in under 12 seconds, respectively. Drake also anticipates a substantial reduction in energy consumption for block proofs, with expectations to lower usage to under 10 kilowatts per block by the end of the year. This progress marks a significant step forward in enhancing Ethereum's scalability and efficiency.
