Ethereum has successfully produced its first real-time block on November 13, 2025, marking a significant step towards transparent execution. The block, designed by the ETHGas team, was created with 44 sub-blocks in just 6,703 milliseconds. This innovative structure aims to split each block into 120–240 sub-blocks, with an average interval of 152 milliseconds, enabling deterministic execution without the need for Layer 2 solutions. The introduction of real-time blocks has already seen over 4% of validators participating in the block space market. This development is expected to benefit risk-on assets, with real-time execution potentially becoming the standard by late 2026. The move is part of Ethereum's broader strategy to enhance transparency and efficiency in blockchain operations.
