The Ethereum Foundation has announced the successful completion of the ETH Rangers project, a six-month initiative aimed at bolstering the security of the Ethereum ecosystem. The project, which funds independent researchers, has led to the recovery or freezing of over $5.8 million in assets. Additionally, the initiative reported or documented more than 785 vulnerabilities and client issues, identified around 100 attackers, and delivered security education content to over 209,000 users.
The ETH Rangers project also saw participation from over 800 teams in security challenges, produced more than 80 technical presentations and training sessions, and developed or improved seven open-source security tools. The Ethereum Foundation emphasized that these achievements highlight the importance of a decentralized defense strategy to enhance the security and resilience of decentralized networks like Ethereum.
