Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake has released a technical roadmap, termed "strawmap," outlining the future upgrade path for the Ethereum L1 protocol. The document, aimed at researchers and developers, details plans for approximately seven forks by 2029, with upgrades occurring every six months. Key long-term goals include achieving faster L1 finality within seconds, a throughput of 1 gigagas per second, high-throughput L2 solutions based on data availability sampling, quantum-resistant cryptography, and native privacy transaction features.
