The sale was executed at a price of $2,042.96 per ETH via the foundation's Safe multisig wallet. Proceeds from the sale will support Ethereum's core operations, including protocol development and community grants.
BitMine Immersion Technologies, listed on the NYSE American under BMNR, has been increasing its ETH holdings, which now exceed 4.5 million ETH, valued at around $9.3 billion. This marks the second OTC transaction by the Ethereum Foundation, following a previous sale of 10,000 ETH to SharpLink Gaming in July 2025. The foundation's financial management framework allows for periodic conversion of ETH to fiat to fund operations.
