Ethereum Foundation researchers Carl Beek and Julian Ma have announced their resignations. Beek, who has been with the foundation for seven years, will leave on May 29. Ma, who served for approximately four years, has also decided to step down. Their departures follow a series of exits from the foundation, including co-executive director Tomasz K. Stańczak in February, Josh Stark in March, and Protocol team leads Barnabé Monnot, Tim Beiko, and Alex Stokes earlier this month. The Ethereum Foundation has been undergoing significant changes since a major restructuring in 2025, which was initiated in response to community criticism. Recent controversies, such as the introduction of loyalty oaths for employees, have further stirred discussions within the community.
