The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has elevated post-quantum security to a core strategic priority, establishing a dedicated Post-Quantum team led by Thomas Coratger, with support from leanVM cryptography researcher Emile. EF researcher Justin Drake announced that Ethereum is transitioning from long-term research to active engineering implementation. This includes bi-weekly development meetings on post-quantum transactions, running a multi-client post-quantum consensus test network, and promoting research through two cryptography bounty programs, each offering $1 million. These initiatives aim to preemptively address potential threats posed by quantum computing to wallets and cryptographic systems.
