Tomasz Stańczak, co-director of the Ethereum Foundation, has proposed integrating artificial intelligence into Ethereum's development processes. Stańczak suggests that AI, particularly large language models, could enhance efficiency by automating tasks such as writing and reviewing proposals, moderating meetings, and managing network upgrades. He envisions Ethereum becoming the first blockchain to be driven by AI, likening this advantage to being the first Proof-of-Work chain. Stańczak's proposal comes as he prepares to leave the Ethereum Foundation at the end of the month. He believes Ethereum's extensive online documentation provides a rich dataset for training AI, potentially accelerating the blockchain's evolution. While AI's potential is significant, Stańczak acknowledges challenges, such as AI's tendency to produce inaccurate information. He anticipates the integration of AI into Ethereum's development will take at least two years, with necessary tools expected by Q3 2028.
