Ethereum developers are actively discussing potential key features for the upcoming Hegota upgrade, following the finalization of the Glamsterdam update. A major point of debate is the inclusion of fork-choice inclusion lists (FOCIL), which would prevent block builders from censoring transactions by mandating the inclusion of all valid transactions in a block. This proposal is gaining consensus as a headliner for Hegota, enhancing Ethereum's censorship resistance. Other proposed features include the universal enshrined encrypted mempool, suggested by developer Jannik Luhn, to enable encrypted transactions and prevent front-running attacks. Additionally, Ethereum Foundation developer Felix Lange proposed frame transactions to prepare for a post-quantum world, offering a more robust account abstraction. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed support for this proposal, emphasizing its importance for quantum resistance and account abstraction goals.
