A New York district judge has ordered Eddy Alexandre, founder of EminiFX, to pay $228 million in penalties following a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) lawsuit. The CFTC accused Alexandre of misappropriating funds from $59 million raised for forex and cryptocurrency trading. The court also mandated the return of $15.0495 million in illicit gains. Alexandre, who has pleaded guilty to related criminal charges, has been sentenced to nine years in prison.
