Dune's recent analysis highlights significant security concerns in LayerZero's cross-chain applications, revealing that nearly half of the OApps utilize high-risk 1-of-1 DVN configurations. The study, conducted over the past 90 days, examined approximately 2,665 unique contracts and found that 47% employ the lowest security level, while 45% use 2-of-2 configurations. Only about 5% of the contracts use more secure 3-of-3 or higher configurations. This analysis follows the KelpDAO attack, where the rsETH contract was identified as using the vulnerable 1-of-1 configuration. The findings underscore a prevalent lack of security redundancy in current cross-chain applications, raising concerns about potential vulnerabilities in the ecosystem.
