The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has launched its DTCC Tokenization Service, initially supporting 34 tokenizable securities. The tokens are backed 1:1 by securities held in DTC custody, granting holders identical legal rights and economic benefits as the underlying assets.
The service uses the same CUSIP identifier across traditional markets and onchain environments, enabling peer-to-peer transfers between DTC-registered wallets around the clock. Built-in compliance controls support near-real-time ownership tracking. Initial wallet and application partners include BitGo, Blockdaemon, Fireblocks, HashKey, Kaleido, Prometheum, Talos, Temple, and Tradeweb. DTC holds approximately $30 trillion in assets under custody.
