A drone attack near Dubai International Airport (DXB) on March 16 led to a fire at a nearby fuel storage facility, prompting the temporary suspension of flights. Emirates announced the suspension of its operations, with several flights from China to Dubai being diverted. Flights EK363 from Guangzhou, EK303 from Shanghai, and EK329 from Shenzhen were redirected to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), while EK307 from Beijing was diverted to Muscat. Previously, all Chinese airlines had suspended flights to Dubai until the end of the month, leaving only Emirates flights operational.
