Dromos Labs is set to merge its decentralized exchanges, Aerodrome and Velodrome, into a single platform named Aero, with a launch planned for Q2 2026. The new DEX will expand its operations from Base to the Ethereum mainnet and Circle’s Arc, utilizing the upgraded METADEX03 system. This system incorporates Slipstream V3 and MetaSwaps technology to minimize value leakage and facilitate cross-chain trading.
Aero will introduce a new native token to replace the existing AERO and VELO tokens, serving governance and reward functions on the unified platform. Currently, Aerodrome holds a total value locked (TVL) of $475.9 million on Base, while Velodrome has a TVL of $39 million on the OP mainnet. Both tokens have experienced weekly gains of 30%-40%, although they remain significantly below their December 2024 highs.
