Dragonfly partner Haseeb Qureshi publicly denied claims that Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan misappropriated company funds for personal expenses, including private jets. The allegations reportedly originated from findings by Peter Thiel's Founders Fund.
Qureshi stated that Dragonfly is one of Polymarket's largest early investors and defended Coplan's conduct. He noted that Coplan was not drawing a salary at the time, fully disclosed all expenses totaling roughly the annual salary of a software engineer, and confirmed none of the flights were for private use.
According to Qureshi, Coplan initiated the accounting review and repayment process himself. The relevant funds have been fully repaid to the company, and Coplan subsequently began drawing a normal salary. Qureshi characterized the situation as an accounting issue rather than an integrity problem.
