Discovery Bank has partnered with Luno to integrate cryptocurrency services into its mobile app, marking a first for South African banks. This collaboration allows over one million Discovery Bank customers to buy, hold, and sell more than 50 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP, directly within the app. The integration ensures compliance with South African regulations and offers instant onboarding and seamless trading, with users able to view balances and transaction histories in the app. Executives from both companies highlighted the initiative's alignment with regulatory standards and the increasing demand for digital assets.
