Deutsche Bank announced a digital asset custody service for institutional and corporate clients, offering secure custody and transfer functions for Bitcoin, Ether and select stablecoins. The bank plans to later expand the service to tokenized financial instruments.
The service will initially target German clients and remains subject to regulatory approval. Deutsche Bank is focusing on asset managers, hedge funds, custodians, brokerages, sovereign institutions and corporate clients, while also identifying digital asset firms as a third target customer group. UniCredit and other European banks are also evaluating expanded digital asset custody and brokerage businesses.
