A Detroit man, Jibreel Pratt, has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison for concealing Bitcoin transfers intended to support ISIS. Pratt pleaded guilty in July to two counts of concealing cryptocurrency donations for the terrorist group. He was found to have sent Bitcoin to a federal informant posing as an ISIS operative in March and May 2023. Authorities also uncovered Pratt's plans to weaponize drones and explosives. Federal officials reiterated their commitment to combating digital terrorism financing.
