The Danish Ice Hockey Union (DIU) has partnered with blockchain project Concordium to launch a digital identity pilot during the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Switzerland. The initiative will test on-chain identity verification and AI systems in real-world scenarios, focusing on privacy and secure interactions. The "Verified Fan Program" will utilize zero-knowledge proof technology to enhance privacy in identity verification, while the "Agentic Commerce" pilot will enable AI agents to autonomously interact with fans and digital commerce systems. Concordium, the official AI partner of the Danish national ice hockey team, will have its brand featured on team helmets and jerseys. The collaboration fee is settled in CCD tokens, with a 12-month lock-up period. The partnership aims to showcase Concordium's technology to a global audience, leveraging the championship's extensive viewership across multiple markets.
