DefiLlama founder 0xngmi has accused Figure of attempting to pressure him into avoiding due diligence on the company's data. According to 0xngmi, Figure engaged in public and private defamation to deter scrutiny. The controversy centers around Figure's claim of $12 billion in on-chain RWA volume, which DefiLlama's investigation found questionable due to limited on-chain assets and transactions. DefiLlama's analysis revealed that Figure holds only $5 million in BTC and $4 million in ETH on exchanges, with minimal trading activity. Additionally, Figure's stablecoin, YLDS, has a supply of just 20 million, raising doubts about the claimed transaction volume. Most of Figure's RWA transactions appear to be conducted off-chain, leading to questions about the authenticity of their reported asset trading. 0xngmi emphasized the importance of user trust in DefiLlama's data integrity.
