The surge in Liang's wealth is attributed to DeepSeek's valuation, which soared from $10 billion in April to $50 billion following a $7.4 billion funding round in June. Liang's personal investment of $3 billion in DeepSeek resulted in his stake being diluted to approximately 78%. The ranking considers only companies whose primary business and revenue are derived from AI models, excluding conglomerates and AI supply chain firms. Liang's wealth now surpasses that of Anthropic's Dario Amodei and OpenAI's Greg Brockman.
