Decibel, an on-chain perpetual contract exchange incubated by Aptos Labs, has officially launched on the Aptos mainnet. The platform previously attracted significant interest during its public testnet phase, with over 700,000 unique accounts and 132,000 daily active users, achieving an average daily trading volume of more than 1 million transactions. Prior to its mainnet launch, Decibel's deposit campaign secured commitments exceeding $58 million, with around 40% of contributions from Ethereum and Solana users.
Decibel operates using a centralized order book model, ensuring that order placement, matching, settlement, and risk management are conducted on-chain. The protocol uses usDCBL, a USD stablecoin issued by Stripe's Bridge, as its default collateral. Future plans for Decibel include the introduction of a spot market, multi-collateral accounts, and tokenized real-world assets.
