David Sacks, Co-Chair of the U.S. President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, has expressed concerns over the impact of stringent regulations on the U.S.'s AI leadership. Sacks highlighted that China's Kimi K3 model has recently topped the Frontend Code Arena rankings, achieving state-of-the-art performance on several benchmarks. He warned that the U.S.'s regulatory measures, such as restricting new data centers and proposing a federal pre-approval agency for frontier models, could hinder innovation and weaken its competitive edge in the global AI race.
