Shares of Nasdaq-listed Datavault AI dropped nearly 50% after the company disclosed it has been unable to withdraw its stored Bitcoin from the Biconomy crypto exchange since June 2026.
The frozen assets originated from a September 2025 equity transaction with Scilex Holding, in which Scilex agreed to pay $150 million in BTC to purchase Datavault shares and warrants. The Bitcoin was credited to Datavault's Biconomy wallet via an off-chain transfer but remains inaccessible months later.
