Binance founder Changpeng Zhao said his personal wealth strategy follows four rules: no stock buying, no property speculation, no crypto trading and not holding too much cash. In an interview, Zhao said he avoids real estate because transactions take too long and the returns are not worth it, and said he does not trade stocks or make short-term crypto bets, instead holding long term and selling portions of his crypto assets when needed. Zhao said he sold his home in 2013 to buy Bitcoin, then held through a two-thirds price drop and an 18-month flat market. He founded Binance in 2017, and the exchange became the world’s largest crypto trading platform within five months. Zhao was sentenced to four months in prison in 2023 for violating the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act and was pardoned by Trump last year, according to the report. His net worth is estimated at about $114.6 billion.
