Crypto.com will shut down its consumer app in Hong Kong on February 1, 2027, according to Bloomberg. Affected users have been notified in advance, with the company providing guidance on closing accounts and assisting with orderly fund withdrawals.
A Crypto.com spokesperson said the move is aimed at optimizing global operations and channeling resources toward markets with more sustainable long-term opportunities. The closure does not affect the company's application through Foris DAX HK Limited for a Hong Kong virtual asset trading platform license, which targets the institution-oriented Crypto.com Exchange platform and remains pending approval by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.
