The cryptocurrency perpetual futures market experienced $235 million in liquidations over the past 24 hours, with short positions bearing the brunt. Bitcoin accounted for $123 million of the liquidations, while Ethereum and Solana followed with $78.67 million and $33.6 million, respectively. Notably, 84.96% of Solana's liquidations were from short sellers. The liquidations were triggered by significant price movements against short positions, leading to forced closures and increased market volatility.
