Data center operator Crusoe signed a multi-year cloud services agreement with AI search company Perplexity AI to provide Nvidia chip-based computing power and full-cycle technical hosting. Perplexity will use Crusoe’s Nvidia chips to train and run models. Crusoe will also provide Perplexity Enterprise Max to more than 1,800 Perplexity employees. Crusoe, known for major projects including the Stargate data center for OpenAI in Abilene, Texas, is expanding its cloud business as it competes with “neo-cloud” providers such as CoreWeave and Nebius. Crusoe’s cloud is currently deployed in the United States, Iceland and Norway, with Israel to be added. Perplexity remains a major customer of mainstream cloud providers including AWS.
