Consensys has warned that certain Web3Signer configurations may expose validator signing operations to unauthorized access. The vulnerability stems from compromised certificate keys, which could allow attackers to request signatures on behalf of validators.
The company clarified that default Web3Signer setups are unaffected by the issue, and no exploitation has been reported to date. Node operators using non-default configurations are advised to review their certificate key management practices.
