Security firm Coinspect has revealed a significant vulnerability in crypto wallet seeds generated with insecure code since 2018, leading to $3.14 million being stolen last month. The firm reported that thousands of compromised seeds have been actively used, with most thefts going unreported. Some stolen funds were aggregated into a single address, suggesting potential money laundering activities. Notably, one affected address transferred $2 million shortly after an alert was issued, though it remains unclear if this was a theft. Coinspect has issued a warning that users, particularly in China, may still be at risk due to this vulnerability. The firm advises users to review their wallet security to prevent further losses.
